You know the sentiment when you come out of a store feeling like you’ve conquered the whole world or something? Well, I get that feeling often after street-shopping at Lokhandwala Market where one would need to bargain his/her way to grab some of the pretty things at affordable prices! Yes, I am a girl on a budget but shopping in Lokhandwala Market is a super saver and totally worth it for sure!
From scarves to bags, bangles to necklaces – you’ll find a dazzling range of accessories and garments amidst the chaos and colours. Tiny pieces of advice –Pay around half of the quoted price and no more. Avoid overcrowded stalls and shopping during weekends and evenings. Try not to immediately buy the first thing you see at these flee markets because trust me.. the further you go, you are bound to see similar stuff in other neighbouring stores which are possibly cheaper.
Hope you had a funtime reading this blog for more amamzing blogs stay tunned.

Zaveri bazar

Hey there,
Todays blog is about our ancisistors shops who invented this bazaar with love and artistic way .This place is mostly  known for its amazing  jewels to know furture continue reading....

Zaveri Bazaar
The once famous gold street, Zaveri Bazaar, is now just reduced to being a two time blasted site and a crowded hawker zone. Akshada Bhalerao tracks how the golden lane was looted of its heritage.
Once upon a time, there was a golden street where jewel artists would display their artworks and the people would buy those jewels to adorn their pretty wives and to secure their future with this investment. On the romantic premises of the ‘town’ area of Mumbai, the street named Zaveri Bazaar continued to follow its path of intricate jewellery staying true to its name. And they all lived happily ever after…
However the story of Zaveri Bazaar does not continue this way today. The street, famous for its gold and silver jewellery, seems to have lost its shine. It does no longer have the flock of families buying jewellery nor does it have the ancestral jewel shops. Imitation jewellery shops settle in while the streets are taken over by hawkers.
The heritage
The street is located in the Churchgate area and is one of the many market places of Mumbai. Mumbai had specific market places or rather market lanes which were famous for the goods they sold. Of the many markets in town like Kapada Bazaar, Nal Bazaar, Crawford Market, etc., each famous for its own specialty, Zaveri Bazaar has proudly taken its place on the right side of Jhama Masjid for years.
The fake side
Few more things that settled in Zaveri Bazaar were imitation jewellery shops and hawkers, taking away the golden feel of the street completely. Now instead of shops laden with gold there are imitation jewellery shops that have taken away the shine of the street. “It hurts to see imitation jewellery shops where in the same shop our friends would sell the real thing. What is even more saddening is that the streets are now encroached by hawkers. They’ve eaten up the beauty and credibility of Zaveri Bazaar.” Says Ujjwal Zaveri, a silver articles trader from Zaveri Bazaar. On the other hand, post bomb blast people have lost confidence in Zaveri Bazaar. Regular customers are being lost since they fear coming to this crowded place for any work let alone shop for gold. Moreover, the growing fad of brands is taking them away from the traditional jewelers. The craft is getting lost and so is the creativity of the artist. With the standard imitation jewellery available in bulk, there is no space for custom made fine jewellery. It takes a long time to create a unique craftwork and also, making charges are included. Hence, the craftsmen are being denied work. Jewellery today is not a possession to be made with love and care and cherished for a lifetime but just an ornament with whom there is no personal attachment whatsoever.
With the lack of original gold and customers, Zaveri Bazaar, the ‘crowned’ street now lays dethroned.
Hope you came across something new about Zaveri Bazaar .

Thank you.

3. Chor Bazar

Hi All,
Here I am with my next best street shopping place. A place where people will not deny to shop.

                                                            Chor Bazaar

Literally meaning a ‘thieves’ market,’ Chor Bazaar seems to have everything from mobile phones, motorcycle parts, to a treasure trove of Bollywood movies! Earlier called the ‘Shor Bazaar,’ meaning noisy market, the British couldn’t pronounce this correctly, which is how the present name derived. Chor Bazaar is for those who want to get a bit adventurous and explore beyond the obvious. It’s a great place for collectibles from brassware, ceramic, or vintage crafts. They’ll be sure to steal some great prices if they look hard enough. It’s best to roam Chor Bazaar with a local, and early Friday mornings anywhere form 4-6am.

Chor Bazaar can be divided into many small sub markets. As you enter the chor bazaar you will first pass through the automobile section of the thieves market. In the automobile section you will see various old scooters, bikes and cars being brought in and chopped down into small pieces and their spare parts are collected and sold to other small traders and shops in the market. It takes only a few minutes to chop down a second hand or a stolen car by four people in this market. Various car and scooter parts like engines, car doors, bike mud guards, scooter tyres, car tyres, metal frames are collected and sold to other shops. These spare parts, brakes, horns, engines are then sold to people wanting to buy them at throw away prices. From this junk yard you could rescue broken down car parts and build your own car. This is a paradise for automobile industry and automobile makers who want to create their machines from scratch.

This is the mother of all stolen goods. There is a Lane called Dedh Gully near Kamathipura and Chor Bazar in Mumbai, where every Friday, between 4:00 am and 8:00 am, stolen branded shoes like NIKE, REEBOK, ADIDAS, ALDO and many other international brands are sold at prices which you would not imagine are sold. Many shoe stealing gangs are now a days are stealing shoes from many housing societies, high profile actors and rich people. Such shoes which would cost Rs 15,000 are sold at cheap prices like Rs 2,000 to Rs 4,000. Every friday, there are at least 80 to 90 shops operate here between 4:00 am and 8:00 am

I  hope this information will be useful to you in future.
Stay connected.

Thankyou.

2. Colaba Causeway shopping

Hello everyone,
Here i am with my next best street shopping in Mumbai.
Hello to all the fashion lovers out there! If you are running out of clothes, accessories, footwear? That's when you head straight to Colaba Causeway.

              Colaba Causeway shopping
For those who love their junk jewellery, vintage decoratives, and a few tasty destinations, Colaba is the place to be! Located in the heart of South Bombay, Causeway is renowned to showcase unbelievable prices that bedazzle tourists each and every time! Some of the trendiest copper styled jewellery from chokers, bead necklaces, ear cuffs, webbed earrings, toe rings, chunky bracelets, are sure to make any girl craving for more. Colaba is also known to have a great collection of scarves, harems, and dresses.
If you’re in for a break after all that shopping, taking a pit stop at the shops interspersed between stalls, is a good idea. Café Mondegar and Leopold Café serve some great contemporary cuisine. If you’re in for Iranian delights, make sure to also check out Piccadilly
You’ll be sure to grab a great catch if you just keep your eyes peeled wide open. I find the bargaining slightly easier, and the shopkeepers a bit more gentle for some reason. The best part is that these stalls are covered, and are sure to protect you even during the monsoons, so be sure to check out this destination anytime!
I hope you enjoyed reading my blog.

1. Bandra Hill Road

 Bandra Hill Road

No this is not specifically on a hill, but is the golden treasure of Bandra west. Considered to be a shopping heaven, especially for Western wear and a variety of shoes, Hill Road will not disappoint! As the stretch begins, there won’t be much you’ll find, and you may want to just turn back. The treasure lies towards the back. Go into one of the lanes and the road opens up to a wider clearing filled with stalls carrying the trendiest dresses, tops, jeggings, you name it!
I found a Vero Moda dress within 350/- once!! It’s true that there will be fakes amongst the authentic pieces, but real brands exist! It’s important for you to check out the logo as closely as possible. If it’s shabbily written or any grammar or spelling errors, it’s bound to be a fake. These guys will give you a little bit of a hassle when it comes to bargaining, but it’s important for you to stay firm, and go down as low as possible. If negotiating endlessly doesn’t seem to work, try simply walking away showing your disinterest. He’s bound to call you back. If not, don’t lose hope, as you’ll probably find a similar piece for an even better price at another stall!
One more thing! Avoid going into the air-conditioned boutiques, as these guys will claim “Fixed Rates” for all their items.
To comfort yourself with trendy fashion clothes Bandra hill road is the destination. Its not only cheap but also a treasure for fashion. My experience says,"It is one of the best street shopping place, which is must to try''.

Thanking you.
